does this sound like too much lag?

hey peeps. well my 94 legacy ss is almost at 186k, so it's no spring chicken, but it still runs well. however, i feel like it has a bit of lag. if i'm going 55 and hit it, it'll get up to almost 5-6K and 10 mph more, then the rpm's stop going up and the speed starts climbing much quicker.

what are some thing i should check for? take off the inlet and check shaft play? connection from turbo to the inlet?

+1, mine was doing that when I was getting too much boost(on an already slipping clutch). It's fairly obvious though if that's the case, because speed will shoot up pretty quick, a good amount faster than your car could be accelerating.

well, it accelerates, like 10 mph until it gets into boost. then it goes up pretty quick then. but it doesn't seem to slip, and it still feels like it pulls hard enough. i know what you mean with the slipping though.

also it is an auto.
