90 degree inlet?
Hi there. I have been checkin out the bbs for some time now and i cant seem to get a perfect answer to one of my questions.
Situation:
Turbo has been swapped out for a VF39 or a TD04, how do you get a nice 90 degree inlet to the turbo??
Weld an elbow?
Silicone elbow deal?
New intake idea??
I ask this question because i want to keep the under hood as stock as humanly possiable. So clean no blue silicone crap. Tho i will use silicone just black.
Thanks people!
Any pics of peoples 90 dergee inlets would rock!

use any elbow style you want, the tighter radius the better, it's 2 1/4 od, then a piece of exhaust pipe to connect inlet elbow to intake elbow.
stock looking...ftw if you want power restrictions.

the whole intake still fits. the difference is the vf11 has a aluminum 90 bloted to it's inlet. most other turbos from subaru are different because the intake runs under the manifold.
so, you need a short radius 2 1/4 i.d elbow with a short piece of exhaust pipe into to make it similarr to the vf11 90.
anything you make will rub the intake manifold but it's not a big deal.

Can you post a bigger picture of that please? That will tell me if my cast elbow bends will fit. That looks like a darn tight bend.
You would need 3in. of clearance from the turbo inlet to the intake runner to fit my 2in. elbow castings. The radius on these castings is as tight as possible without being restrictive.
We use these for compressor-to-cooler piping, but didn't have this application in mind originally. If it fits, we're good.
