WRX motor in an Outback.....?

Post by Zoo Mob »

I know its gen 2, but I'm pretty comfortable in this forum, so help if you can...Just bought a 97 OB 5sp manual with likely bottom end damage to the engine. There happens to be a WRX motor and trans available locally for a pretty good price right now. What would be the complete list of parts I'd need to do the swap? Also, could I opt out of the WRX trans and just use the WRX motor with the OB trans, could it take the power? Any other considerations or places to research this?

Thanks
