Which radiator hoses fit?

Post by kimokalihi »

I'm about to buy some new radiator hoses so I can install my radiator. Just wanted to make sure I get some that fit properly. I'm not sure if the EJ20G I have is any different than the EJ22T.

Is it? Which models/years radiator hoses will fit? Should I go OEM or silicone?

I wouldn't think it'd be any different.

I'd go with OEM, but it's your call.

I'll go with whatever you guys think is more durable and last the longest. The price difference is approximately $22 for both hoses OEM at the dealership vs. $60 shipped online for OBX silicone hoses. Assuming WRX hoses fit.

No, the WRX stuff won't. They're radiator hose goes to the middle part of the radiator.

You can kind of see it in this pic.

I'm actually researching it right now. I'm not as concerned about that as I'm concerned about the EJ20G I have. I'd like to know if anyone knows if the 97 EJ20G is the same as far as coolant pipe and water pump pipe location and angle and all that.

If I ordered 91 turbo hoses, will they even fit properly?

Looks to me like the 92-00 GC8 hoses are pretty close to ours.

They are.

I think they're a little shorter. A buddy had an 01 RS I think, and his upper radiator hose was tits up, and we snipped a little from an old legacy radiator hose I had.

Alright, I just bought a pair of black silicone hoses from a seller on ebay. This seller is from china as was the seller that sold me my ASI silicone intake hoses. This seller didn't quite have 100% feedback so I'm a bit skeptical. It as like 99.6 or something and there were several neutral feedbacks left and one or two negatives about something in spanish about them being thieves and the other was item was not as described.

We'll see. For $48 shipped, I can't complain too much. I'll definately let you guys know if they fit well. With pictures.

Hopefully that all works out and you get the parts.

Did you get the 92-00 GC8 ones?

Yup, 92-00 GC8. I'm hoping it arrives by thursday at the latest so I can install my radiator on my day off but I doubt it since it's coming from china.

I just put them on a few days ago. It's in my build thread. Yes they fit with some trimming. Otherwise they're a little too long but they fit great once you trim half an inch or so off the ends. Check my build thread in my signature. Maybe I'll move some pictures from it over here later. Going to a party now.
