Are there any good Subaru DIY sites?
I have a manual, but it's just the crappy Haynes manual, and the factory manual. Both of which can be somewhat confusing and not very helpful for certain things.
Are there any DIY sites out there? Like just a collection of how to's for different projects? Something similar to these but for Subaru

Honestly, I've been down that route...and I think this is the best Legacy DIY site by far. There really isn't much that hasn't been done or discussed here!

yea I would say between my haynes, chiltons, and the BBS, there isn't anything I havent been able to find quite yet. BBS is always my first choice if I have a computer handy though.
Re: Are there any good Subaru DIY sites?
Yea, but it's kind of difficult to search for things here, especially when you search and all you find are threads telling people to search, or there's the stickys that you have to read the whole thread to figure out what it's even about, I was just hoping there was something simple...SLODRIVE wrote:Honestly, I've been down that route...and I think this is the best Legacy DIY site by far. I suppose I'll see if I can find a Chiltons, the Haynes is almost not worth having, but I got it for free anyway.

Wow...my experience has been totally different than yours. I learned about every detail on how to do my engine swap entirely through this site. Sure you have to be a little creative with your search, and maybe put in a little time reading the many threads here, but considering the wealth of knowledge on this BBS, it's well worth the time. I also find that my Haynes manual fills in tons of gaps left by the FSM, and vice versa. To each their own I guess, but it sounds like you should look a little harder right here.Apex3 wrote:Yea, but it's kind of difficult to search for things here, especially when you search and all you find are threads telling people to search, or there's the stickys that you have to read the whole thread to figure out what it's even about, I was just hoping there was something simple...SLODRIVE wrote:Honestly, I've been down that route...and I think this is the best Legacy DIY site by far. Being told to go and search and all you find are threads telling other people to search! I love that every time!

Telling people to search is a waste of time really. Save yourself the effort and don't write anything at all.

The build journals are a great place to find DIY stuff. I have found tons of good info in there.

Re: Are there any good Subaru DIY sites?
Hell yes! Thank you so much! Not sure if it's exactly what I was looking for, I really need to be doing homework right now, but from what I saw there's certainly some things I will waste a lot of time on on that site.kleinkid wrote:Not everything, but some good stuff
