Strut Top Mount Question

Post by SubyFusion »

Ok so i just ordered all new KYB GR-2 struts and i was wondering if i should replace the top hats since now would seem to be the best time :D what i wanted to know is are the KYB tops as stiff as the STI group N tops or should i just go for the STi's. Also are they a big difference from the stock tops??? thanks :-)

I Guess all just go with the STI top hats because from what I have read there a lot stiffer than any other ones out there! Does anyone know what the part number is from the dealer or how much they go for??? I would really appreciate it thanks

Rallispec has the mounts. I don't know the part #'s off the top of my head.

I'd say it really depends on what your plans are later down the road and the price difference between the sti top mounts and the stock ones. If there's not much of a price difference, I'd probably go with the STi ones, especially if you plan to put stiffer springs on later.

I got my WL's from Teague's/boxer4racing. Had to wait a while for them from Australia. Not sure if Whiteline still has the delivery/supply issues they had before, but Dale worked with me to get the springs. I'd suggest giving them a call.

I did convert my 91SS to use 92+ springs. I used 70198 fronts and 70369 rears.

I'm sure boxer4racing and pdm can order the rears. You just need to call and talk with a person about it.

I think the cost was around $200 or so. It's been a long time so I don't remember the costs.
