starting problems sons 1993 legacy 143581 miles

hi all I tried to get codes but nothing blinking. so reset by connecting wires like fourm says to do great info but wants to start very hard long cranking time really ruff until warms up. then can turn off and restart all day. come to the morning does same thing so i took off battery cable to reset computer and then no engine light on and started right up every time now a week later engine light on again same problem thanks kevin ps temp sensor? knock sensor? hard to find parts on line good site? would be great! auto zone has there brand only. 49.99 knock sensor?

Welcome to the BBS.

Based on your description of the problem, I would suggest replacing the coolant temp sensor. I would recommend buying an OEM part. Below is the Subaru dealership I order parts from. They have good prices and service.
