440cc injectors... EJ22t
What injectors are those? I'm looking for 440cc or 480cc injectors but do not know part numbers... any suggestions?

so then anything higher than 440's u would need to go to the n/a fuel rails? what exactly is the benefit of the n/a fuel rails? size? and do the 440's match up with the td04 on our t-legs as it does on the wrx's? better or worse?

Pretty sure those questions have been asked before...socalwb wrote:so then anything higher than 440's u would need to go to the n/a fuel rails? what exactly is the benefit of the n/a fuel rails? size? and do the 440's match up with the td04 on our t-legs as it does on the wrx's? better or worse?

No Prob. If you'd asked if the EE20 fuel rails fit and why/why not, that's a different story.

I got the 440's from that guy on ebay. and it came with all the o-rings except the 16696aa000 and then the big fat one that goes on the bottom of the rail. I went the Subaruparts.com to see if they had them for $7 I think.
and just to make sure the giant spacer is only needed if i take the rails off the car right?

Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
OK, so got my injectors from Kleinkid, and just sent them off to WitchHunter, I was going to get them cleaned and tested at the community college for free but decided to go with WitchHunter since they replace the o-rings, seals, and pentils as well. I will post what all is needed after they are sent to WitchHunter to go into the EJ22T rails. Thanks for the info everyone!

Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
Just an FYI to all of those who buy 440's, and want to send them in to Witch Hunter for cleaning/flow testing:
I Highly recommend these guys, I got my injectors back within about 3 days of sending them in. Total cost was 93.48
This included return shipping, testing (with before and after results), the cleaning itself, and new o-rings and pentils.
I specified on the order sheet that these were going into my 91 SS. For those who send their injectors in to these guys, and want to put them into your turbo legacy rails, the only part you will need is 4X 16608AA020 (Fuel Injector Seal), all others were included.
I will be ordering my 4x 16608AA020 (Fuel Injector Seal) from www.subaruonlineparts.com and they are $5.09 each.

What were your flow test results? Also, glad these are in the process of working out for you.

Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
They were pretty good actually. Static flow the worse one was off by 3.5 and the same for pulsed flow @ 2500 RPMS. Still nice to know that they are safe to put on my motor, and the cost of replacing all of those o-rings and stuff probably would have cost well over $50 alone so I am satisfied. Just out of curiousity, will these injectors on my stock EM make me get worse gas milage or anything like that? Run rich?
Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
Yes and yes. It will take the ECU hundreds of miles to relearn the fuel trims to get it somewhat close back to spec.Mattheww044 wrote:Just out of curiousity, will these injectors on my stock EM make me get worse gas milage or anything like that? Run rich?

Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
damn. Well I am pretty sure one of my stock injectors is leaking, so I am only getting like 14mpg haha. So do I need to stay out of boost and off the throttle for those couple hundred miles? Not a problem if so, I just want to take everything as safely as possible. Thanks
Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
When I was on stock ecu + 440cc setup, I seem to recall the wideband just going really rich (like ~10 AFR) any time I got into boost.
Oh yea, you'll likely have a bouncing idle too since the stock fuel trims only can handle like -/+ 14% trims and the ECU needs more than that to control it -- at least the latest Revtronix chip upgrade raised the fuel trim limits to fix a bouncing idle issue I pointed out to him on the forum...

Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
hmmmm.... do you think I should even install the injectors then? Or is it kinda risky on stock EM?
Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
Install the freakin injectors, already. I had 440's in my car on the stock ECU, yes was a little rich. Made a little soot on the end of the muffler, no big deal. No idle issues. Every car is different, mostly. Don't be a fraidy cat!

Haha, I'm still waiting on the seals, once those are here I will install them. Bit I'm just curious do I need to stay out of boost and such while the ecu is learning the new fuel trims?
Re: How To: 440cc Injectors in Legacy Turbo Rails
It certainly wouldn't hurt to drive sanely for a while. You driving this out to Olympus Rally? If so, you'll be fine.. I will be there in my SS also, not my Outback.
