WRX or STi Brake Booster fit?

Post by wtdash »

I'm still having issues w/my brakes and would like to try a different brake booster.

I upgraded to a Single Diaphragm from a USED Impreza and didn't notice an improvement.

I may just buy a new/rebuilt one, but I saw on the Forester site the STi BB is a great upgrade, but don't know if they'll fit in my '90 Legacy.

Thanks,
Td

Don't quote me on it.....but I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

I think I know Why it won't work. The Master Cylinder is different - older style on Left:

I have the non-ABS brakes and my MC is an 'inny' not an 'outy'.

I don't have one avl., but I believe they have the same type of connection as the non-abs.

Hmmm....wonder if you could switch the guts. Assuming the bore is the same size and the ports are at the same distance from the end....I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Here's some pics of one I took apart

Here's pics of an ABS one.

Same as the non-abs MC, but without the bottom castings drilled and tapped.
