...because of the virtual machine. I know I know, this isn't big news for all the geeks here, but it has a serious practical application for me. I've had this computer for two days, and I'm finally getting it sorted out.
Anyways, I can run my Link software, Zeitronix, Mitchell, among other things I have not gotten to yet, without issue. Once installed in the XP environment, everything is gravy baby, like KFC.
That's cool. I just bought my mom a new laptop and ordered it with the XP downgrade so she doesn't have to learn a new OS, but I did get it with a copy of windows 7 for me to play with
Microsoft has a patch so you can run the virtual machine with a CPU that doesn't have VT-n. It is slow on my friend's machine, but it works. USB ports still work too.
It has to be Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate, or Enterprise though.
I just ordered a bunch of parts to build my new pc and windows 7 ultimate. I've never paid for windows before and I hope to never have to pay for another one again because it costs $285.
