Newbie here. Trans ??

Ok I'm picking up a 91 turbo sedan and from what I understand the car won't distribute power to wheels. I figured it was transfer case am I wrong? How much of a pain is it to swap a new trans in? or how complicating is the 5spd swap? Fill me in thanks

Look for a tranny filter and replace it as it might be clogged, it should be external and check to see if there is transmission fluid.

well according to the guy teeth are chewed up and what not. i haven't personally looked at it in its current state but sounds like it's toast. if that is the case would i need to swap transmission

Yeah, if it is infact a turbo legacy, good luck finding a transmission. may want to source a wrx tranny and search all the info on the wrx transmission swaps

Yep it a 1991 subaru legacy turbo auto. I figured it would be a pain in the arse to find a trans which has kinda shifted motivation on this project.
I may just look into the wrx trans but also would like to avoid alotta work due to needing a daily driver. I was hit in my outback last fri. And it was totaled. Got slammed by a trailblazer goin 50mph. DAMMit it although still drove haha
