rear diff options?

Post by m44offroad »

Right now I'm looking for options for replacing my rear diff, the previous owner messed up the rear diff (seized the drain and fill plugs and drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the cover with a siliconed bolt to plug the hole :x ) and it has been making noise for last 2 years. The diff noise became much more noticeable after replacing the muffler lol. so anyway I found a 4.111 diff out of a 05 legacy gt (part#27011AA730) with the CV axles and was wondering if that would work, I know the studs on the cover would have to be changed out and the pinion flange but I'm not sure about the length of the CV shafts.

I'm not sure about a diff that new. I'm pretty sure you would have to swap over the axle stubs.

Hopefully someone else can comment on this.
