24mm rear sway bar?

Post by Apex3 »

I'm having a hell of a time finding a good answer for this. I Keep seeing things about a Whiteline 20-24mm rear bar, but no part numbers for it. The way I find things listed is
BSR19XXZ - 20-22
BSR17XZ - 18-22
BSR19XZ -18-22?

I'm finding a lot of conflicting numbers, and since Whiteline doesn't actually say it's difficult to tell. I'm also thinking about just getting the Rallitek 24mm WRX bar and hammering, but I'd rather have one that fits as is.

Also how long does shipping usually take? Was going to order the WL from neverenoughauto.com but it comes from Australia, and I'd like to have it before next Wednesday if possible. What about from Rallitek?

I saw the sticky, but again with the conflicting stuff...

EDIT: Main question isn't clear, is there a WL 24mm bar or were these people mistaken?

Shipping is suprisingly quick from never enough auto. I bought my 22mm adjustable whiteline bar from them and they drop ship directly from whiteline australia. I don't remember exactly how long it took but it pretty fast.

I'm going to order a 22mm adjustable for the front from them too.

Nice, good to know.

Now does anyone know if there's such thing as a 24mm bar? Really any company, I just want something I can put on without cutting my bulge, I don't mind hammering it a bit if I have to though.

The 22mm whiteline is the biggest direct bolt on rear bar for a legacy.

For imprezas, they make a 24mm and 27mm bar.

As far as the adjustable part, I've removed the size range from the faq. Some people say the bar size is the stiffest it gets, some say it's the middle setting, some argue over how much each hole changes the stiffness.

Anyway, to provide some perspective, changing the diameter 1mm makes about a 20% change in stiffness. Moving the mounting point a 1/4" makes more like a 2% difference. So, now I just call them a [x]mm adjustable bar.

Okay sweet, so the BSR19XXZ is a 22mm static from what I'm reading, do the adjustments make it any stiffer? Or does it make it less stiff? I guess I'll just go with that one anyway though, thanks!

Actually now that I'm looking, I was under the impression they came with end links, do the newer bars not?

EDIT: I lied, went with Rallitek

GOt my Rallitek bar, Just as an FYI for anyone reading the thread the 96-99 "19-21mm" bar is 22mm static and is the same as the 02-07 WRX bar they sell(I called because I thought it was the wrong bar), the WRX bar is listed as 22-24mm, all poly bushings and end links for $160 shipped, not bad

On the way to pick up my lateral links right now

It was for the 96-99 Legacy, it just happens to be the same bar as the 02-07 WRX, it doesn't say anything about wagon or sedan. Also keep in mind I haven't mounted it yet, but it's the same bar in this thread
