Patti loses priviliges...

Post by entirelyturbo »

Well, the nasty little biatch isn't going to the Tampa Subaru Challenge, she has an attitude right now.

After stripping one of the left front wheelstuds, I broke one of the right front wheelstuds!!!

So she can sit in my garage and pout while Ginger goes down there and has all the fun. Patti will have to learn her lesson...

What's cool is, I'm not mad. It's so great having another car, that I can just tell Patti to *(&% off and drive Ginger...

Sorry to hear that...

I had a similar story (several nuts froze to the point where my only option was to snap the stud) which is why I replaced all my front lug studs. I got new lug nuts, too, just to be safe.

But don't dismiss her behavior -- you need to think about the psychology of it, and figure out why she's exhibiting this behavior. Perhaps it's simply to get your attention. Have you been perhaps unfairly dividing your time between the younger and older siblings? It's not uncommon for a car to crave attention and not care whether it's good attention or bad attention. And don't say that you don't play favorites -- even the best, fairest, and kindest always have some bias. In any case, it's probably the right thing not to take her to Tampa.

Hahahaha vrg3!!!

Ginger has been my "daily" for about a month now, but that's because I've been fixing Patti for that amount of time. Patti is the privileged one!! She got to sit and relax while I tore my hands to pieces putting new shifter bushings in, retrofitting the A/C, and giving her a brake job on all 4 corners. Ginger was the one taking me to work and school, in the torrid FL heat, and trying to do her best to fill the shoes of her sister as far as horsepower is concerned :D

Not to mention Patti just got the turbo shifter setup, she got the JDM floormats , the TB bypass, the more expensive Michelins, etc. etc. Patti is definitely the more picky of the two...

Of course, Patti was not the one who broke her window regulator on me and forced me to drive around without a window for a few days

Sigh, the joys of owning two cars with an average age of 14.5 years old...

Somehow I've never felt the urge to personalize or really name my cars... My car's "name" is "The Soob." Each of my previous Subarus was also named that (the 91 Legacy L, the 93 Legacy Turbo, the 97 Impreza, and the 97 Legacy GT). :)

Since my most recent one, the Legacy GT, is still in the family, it's name has been changed to "The GT." Back in high school I had "The Benz." My mom drives "The Van," and my dad has "The Audi."

My car has more personality and far less mood swings than the women I've gone out with in the last few years. Women know you're not crazy, they're just jealous at the bond between man and car.

Am I the only one who doesn't see cars as feminine? If anything I think of my car as masculine.

For me it depends on the type of vehicle. No way something like a 1985 Delta 88 is feminine. More like an old man that smokes cigars.

hahahahah, yeah most cars I think of as femine, but big suvs and older american cars i see as masculine. I call my baby Sooby. It's kinda funny cause I talk to her in the car, but it looks like i'm singing to the music or something.

As for the name thing, it just hits me. After I had grown to like my Legacy, I just looked at it one day and it dawned on me: "Patti." It fit. Every characteristic the name suggests, I found in the car. I don't know anyone named Patti, it just appeared. The very same thing happened when I brought my XT home. I just sat there looking at it and BAM! I had the name Ginger for it, again I don't know anyone named Ginger...

vrg3, I can understand what you're saying in one sense. My friends and I always refer to autos as "girly cars" (sorry auto drivers out there, no offense  ) and that MT cars actually have some ballz

However, I view all cars as female.

Our Subies are the quiet, shy, yet somehow intrigueing and attractive "girl next door." Not everyone appreciates this type ;)

An 85 Delta 88 reminds me of the 80-year-old hag sittin on the porch smoking herself to death.

The big SUV's are the gigantic 350-lb broads on Ricki Lake that fight over men that don't want them

The riced-out Hondas are the ugly chicks downtown wearing all this gaudy jewelry and too-tight clothing trying to find a cheap, low-life guy

Then there's the true beauties: Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, etc. They're the vixen supermodels that we fantasize about all the time...

And Steve,
they're just jealous at the bond between man and car.
I'm thinkin about putting this in my sig ;)

stant093, my doctor tells my we don't use words like "nuts" or "crazy" he tells me "we have issues".
In Army we sometimes name our rifles after women and they are not feminine. But they are sexy......
I don't name my cars, I have so many I'm afraid I'd piss one off off by calling her the wrong name :D

My car's name is Ruby. :) Ruby the Subby. I give her hugs and kisses and be tender, but every once in a while she likes to get down and dirty, so I take her for a romp somewhere wet and get rough with her. She likes it. ;)

My wife calls her Forester "Ester" hehe. I used to call my 92 SS scooby or suby (masculine) but then as a joke I started calling it "Subarina" but it kinda stuck :lol I kinda very in what gender cars seem to be. Some seem masculine, most seem feminine. I originally thought of my Subarina as a man but I now know she's just a little cross dressing biatch!

Ginger did seem to be a little feisty after the runs at the Challenge yesterday, but she hurt herself in her control arm bushing, I go after old, arthritic women 8)
