Clicking noise when turning

Post by Shaggy »

I am starting to hear a slight clicking noise when I turn left and give some gas or when I'm taking off and am turning kinda sharp but I only hear it if I accelerate fast. I'm thinking it's my cv joint.. Can anyone help? I am also having starting troubles when cold. I'm gonna start a new post for that tho. Any help would be great.

Yup, CV, get under and see if you have a ripped boot, if it doesn't do it when you're going straight I can almost guarantee it's a CV

So the boot on my outer cv joint is completely ripped in half. I only hear the faint clicking every once In a while. Can I get away with replacing the boot and take my outer cv apart and clean and regrease it and stick it back together? If not where could I get the parts to rebuild it, I haven't realy been able to find anything yet.

So I have decided to just go ahead and replace the whole driveshaft. The person that owned the car before me replaced the passenger side with one from napa. I think I'm going to just buy another napa one for the drivers side, unless someone else has a good reason not to or just a better place to get a new drive shaft. Also should I try to stay away from remanufactured ones?
