WTB ej series motor block alignment pins

Post by Legacy777 »

I'm looking for at least one if not two of the alignment pins for the block halves.

Here's a picture of a split block with the alignment pins circled in red.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Probably lost them or smashed them and that's just a picture for example.

I had the same issue.I ended up putting them in my lathe and gave them a quick deburr with some emery cloth and then flipped them around so that the buggered end was in each block half, leaving the clean side exposed for joining the halves together.

Now that i think about it im not sure why i didnt just machine new ones  .

Perhaps this is another thing to add to my list of parts that i plan on manufacturing when my shit comes around a little better.

I don't know who mucked up your dowels, but what I do to avoid that is find a drill bit that fits inside nicely so I can use a Vice-grips without deforming the dowel or tearing it up real bad.

Machine shop screwed them up. I spent a bit of time deburring them, then found that they crimped them and I couldn't get the damn bolt through.

Tried using a punch to remove the dimple inside the pin, but that didn't work. I've got new pins for the heads coming too. I'm just going to replace all the pins so they are new and everything goes together nicely.
