Transmission issues?
Ok here is the issue. I have a 92 legacy sport with 106000 on it. It is a automatic. When I first take off in the morning my car feels like it has the parking brake on. But once I get going or the tranny is warmed up I don tt have this problem. Now once I am moving and I go to accelerate or take my foot off the gas it feels rough. Also, when I am at a light or stopped with it in drive, the car will roll back or not hold itself in place. I have to keep the rpms up a little if I want to keep the car from moving. It does not do it all the time. I would say about 70% of the time. I have read that it could be a check valve in the torque converter. But I was also told that the transmission is going. Has anyone had this happen to them?
Re: Transmission issues?
Yeah....kind of sounds like a check valve in the torque converter, especially the startup issues.
Have you checked the fluid level and made sure it doesn't smell burnt? If everything is good, there's really not much you can do without taking the trans apart. My suggestion would be to just drive the car as is. The trans may last for as long as you own the car, or it may die....in which case you can swap in another used one, get a new one, or get a new car.
