Updated syncros?

Post by EJ KILLA »

Are the new updated syncros better than the originals? I put all updated ones in my trans but I did have originals that were decent

The updated version provides much smoother shifting (for those shift challenged), but trades this for robustness. The old style are quite a bit tougher and will last longer, but aren't as effective at syncing gears... If you tend to beat on your trans, stick with the old style (if they are in good shape). Make sure you inspect the cones, you really cant effectively tell the condition of synchros without pulling one.

Where did you cryo treat your synchros at? How much was it and do they do brake rotors?
