Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
I did when I got off but just briefly. I couldn't see the ones closest to me and there's a HEATER fuse missing. It's 15amp and in the door card I found a 15amp and 10amp fuse blown. Not a good sign. There's two fuses labeled HEATER. Why is that? I didn't have a fuse puller at work so I didn't pull them all and check. I will soon though.

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
OK I put a new fuse in the second heater fuse location. Still no lighting. I pushed the driver's door lock in and out a couple times and then the rear door finally worked but I think you have to push it harder to get it to work even though without pushing it hard the front passenger door locks and unlocks. There's no power to my rear driver's side door. All the rest of the fuses are good and I checked under the hood and they're good too.
I turned the heater on and cycled the fan through the speeds it started out vibrating pretty bad but smoothed out to a constant humming that gets louder with speed. Smells absolutely disgusting. So bad I wouldn't be able to use it. I felt like I was going to vomit sitting in there for 5 seconds with that thing on. Being hung over a bit still from the night before last doesn't help.
What do you guys think about these tires? I'm nervous driving on them. They've been sitting for who knows how long. Over 2 years for sure since I've had it 2 years in september and it had no engine in it when I got it. The tabs were expired in 2005! One of the tires had little rocks stuck in between the bead and the rim so it was mostly flat for a long long time until I got tired of dealing with it several months ago and took it in to les schwab to have the rocks removed. It holds air still. I'm trying to scrape together funds to buy new(used) wheels and tires. I don't trust them going around corners at 70-80mph and I'd rather not have any blowouts on the way to eastern washington for WCSS next month.
How wide is the stock tire? I don't want to go any wider because if you stick your fingers in the front wheel wells you can't even fit them in. The wheel is that close to the fender. Hasn't rubbed yet though. I'm thinking 16s would look nice on this car. Low pros are cool but I kind of like a little taller looking tire. Will 17s with lower profile tires handle better?

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
I just got off the phone with Speedware Motorsports up in Redmond, WA. I plan to get my car corner balanced up there when I can get enough funds to buy wheels and tires. I talked to David and he was a really nice guy and he's going to look for some wheels and tires for me because they sell packages there. If you check out their website their shop looks amazing.
He told me if I wanted to go with a wider wheel than stock they can always roll my fenders for me.
I just looked up 205mm to inch and it comes out to 8.07 so I guess that's about stock width. I need to sell stuff fast! I have a few things to sell. Gotta go take lots of pictures and start my subaru garage sale thread. I've got EJ22T heads, 2 EJ22T headers, EJ20H twin turbo header, up pipes and turbos, 3 VF11s, TD04 with only 2K miles on it, 02 WRX TMIC, 97 Forester EJ20G TMIC, EJ20G wiring harness+ECU, 3" DP, Borla ProXS 3" muffler, 2 Gibson 3.5" tips, SS swaybars and STI suspension. Just to list some items off the top of my head.

Thanks buddy. It's funny but hopefully that son of a bitch hasn't been chewing my wiring or I'll be instapissed. Twice I tried killing him but he was too quick for me. I should bring my shotgun with me when I work on my car so next time I see him he'll be a gonner. Maybe not a good idea with the concrete and everything and the fact that it's my parent's place and I'm usually working on the car from 2am til 7am.

Or you could keep a cat there and feed it a bit less than it needs.
For the captured nut, the best/easiest way I can figure to repair it would be to cut it out w/ a hole saw, weld a new one (of the same size) onto a piece of sheet metal that you could then weld over the hole you cut out.

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
Problem with that is, I have no welding experience and I'm not sure if my step dad still has that lincoln wire feed welder I once used to weld up cracks in my Toyota 4x4 exhaust. This just sucks.
Could I just drill it out and tap it for a larger bolt? When I tighten the bolt it gets a somewhat tight and then if you turn it anymore it comes loose again and it'll keep going through this cycle if you keep turning it.

Lookin good.
As long as the nut hasn't broken off from the sheetmetal, you could drill and tap it for a larger bolt.

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
I'm trying to decide whether or not to part out or sell my BMX bike I built a couple years ago to buy new wheels and tires. I spent $1,300+ on that bike and only used it maybe 10 times. It's practically brand new. But I don't see myself getting into BMX again like I thought I would so I guess it's useless to me but I hate getting rid of things I like.

Amazon.com but I sent it to PhyrraM and he changed a few pins and added the ingitors and supplied me with an extra ignitor with the wires soldered into it to make it all work with my new ECU.

Nice work on that harness. Notice the heat-shrink crimp connectors. Definitely done the right way.

Clean white paint in that engine bay. Looks good. For others with white, stop whining, it can be done!

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
lol Must be the sun or something because it's really not all that clean. I did pressure wash it before putting the motor and trans in but it got dirty again. If I ever to the wire and brake line tuck I'll clean it better.

It would just look filthy again after a couple weeks anyway. Why bother? It's not like a toilet where it smells bad if you leave it too long.

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
Man! Just got my heart pumpin pretty good. I was slowly rolling through town today. I had just picked up my friend to give him a ride in my car for the first time and as we pulled up to this 3 way intersection that takes us out into the country with long straightaways and sweet S curves when we saw this really sick Corvette pulling up to the intersection across the way. He saw us too. I'm assuming he was laughing when he saw us and wrongfully assumed it was just another slow ricer and figured he'd put us to shame but I think quite the opposite nearly happened to him. He didn't even stop which pissed me off because I was already stopped so he lane fucked me and then he stomped on the gas and I came after him with all I could squeeze out of my car. He had a decent head start and was barely pulling away from us around the first corner. Probably like 100 ft in front of us but I kept up with him pretty good considering what I'm driving and the fact that I have to shift at 5K because of fuel cut. I'm only hitting 13lbs of boost and I think if I had my ECU in hitting 18lbs of boost with 7K shifts I would have at least kept up with him if not beat him. We probably got up to about 120mph at 5K in 5th gear. For about 2 miles until he came up on some cars and slowed down. Then he pulled around them and I just let him take off.
That was fun but also a bummer knowing my engine has got more power but it's being held back a lot. I don't know corvettes at all but this was pretty new and might have even been modded.
It looked just like this:

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
the best part about corvette drivers is they don't know how to drive.... lol! I smoked quite a few of them with my bone stock 02 2.5RS from stop lights because they are older fellas in their mid life crisis state and can't seem to hit their shifts!

After looking at the specs of corvettes that must be the case or he just wasn't going all out. The funny thing is I didn't even do anything to provoke him. I would have just been on my merry way.

Yeah, most of them can't drive. I had one in a C4 that couldn't pull on me around a ramp when I had my '83 GL! Should have seen him try to save face when we finally hit the straightaway of the highway and he took off. Yeah, that'll save your manhood! Have some Viagra, buddy.

Yeah. Ricer flybys are pathetic when ricers do it.
