so i took apart my tranny and right away i saw the nubs that fit in the syncro selctor were ground down to the metal.
so i thought that would solve the problem by replacing the fork in the middle, which i thought was 1-2. But turns out it was the 3-4(middle row), which worked fine before.
so what now? the 1-2 is on the bottom row and it looks fine, if i replace it will i get 1-2 again?

nevermind, syncro wont move into 1st (wont mesh into gear) and 2nd slides out easy. damnit

i have an 98 n/a 2.2 wagon is it possible to use that tranny? i am aware that the clutch is a push cable opperated system.
but will it hold 300+ft lbs of torque?

Sure it can, you just can't abuse it much.
You can convert the cable clutch to hydraulic by swapping an N/A hydraulic clutch fork, and replace your current slave cylinder with the N/A type & use any n/a clutch kit. Someone mentioned having to tap the two bolt holes on the cable tranny for the slave cylinder, but I don't remember doing that with my 98 impreza 2.2L
