No start plz help. (starts! now new leaks!)

Post by RckyMtnLegacy »

I got the engine in, coolant res. fixed, and trying to start it. I had a ground disconnected off the harness just as the harness goes under the intake and fuel rail (drivers side). I believe it connected to the side of the block but there is no way to connect it there now with everything there. I moved it to the frame where another ground is but the car just cranks very slow. I know I need a battery so I am going to get one now but what else could it be? Do I move the ground or is it just a really crappy battery?

Did you relocate the connector or just the ground? If its just the ground what you could try is sand the frame if its painted (like they usually are. Subaru and their infinite wisdom of painting everything) after you sand it put a bolt or screw in the frame and wrap wire around it. If you relocated the connector using additional wire then the signal to the computer might be hindered just enough to where the computer doesn't know what to do. Hope the info helped,

Got it started, new battery and walbro fuel pump and vroom. just now I have an exhaust leak at the manifold which I can fix but right now its too hot. and I have a nice steady coolant drip coming from right next to the lower coolant hose on the block. not sure where exactly and hoping my block is not cracked
