FS: 1992 legacy SS Denver, Co

Post by CAV3MAN227 »

-I'm looking to sell my 1992 Subaru Legacy SS turbo. I have not been able to enjoy this car since my license has been revoked ever since I've purchased it nearly 8 months ago. The car needed a little work as soon as I bought it, but I've been replacing and fixing things ever since. I put a new water pump and timing belt a week after I picked it up. It had a new clutch put in before I got it. I upgraded the exhaust to 3" turbo back with a new catalytic converter waiting to be put in. I also installed a top mount intercooler since these cars didn't come with them at the time. It rides nice and smooth too! There's just under 195k on the motor. It doesn't knock or smoke, clean title in hand. I'd like it to go to a good home. This is a pristine example of a nice/rare 92 t-leg SS.

-Mods:
Greddy Turbo timer
Apexi avcr Electronic Boost Controller
02 wrx TMIC
02 wrx 16in 5x100 5 spoke rims
98 Impreza 2.5RS springs + tophats
GR2 struts
98 Impreza RS 5spd
Apexi N1 intake
3in turbo back exhaust
Clutchmaster stg 1 clutch disc
2004 Legacy front seats (matching grey + black)
Upgraded stereo, speakers, and amp.
Runs 13psi comfortably.
3" down pipe and some other stuff I probably missed!

-This was meant to be a nice, quick, reliable car, but since I still cant drive I can use the money instead. I'm asking $3,000 o.b.o. If you have any questions please E-mail, post, pm, etc. me since I do not have a personal phone. Thanks for looking!

-Joe

Is the only rust on the car on the passenger rear quarter panel? Is the front bumper cracked on the passenger side fog light hole?

-That is the worst spot of rust. there is barely any other places it does but not nearly severe as the spot in the pic. the front bumper is not cracked. that zip tie was put there by the person i got it from, to hold up that plastic piece that's tied in with the plastic in the inner fender well.

How's the 5 speed and suspension? Anything there needing replacing anytime soon?

-everything in those categories are fine. suspension is nice. not to stiff but not to soft either. tranny shifts fine. but the one thing i wonder is, the guy i got it off of said he replaced the clutch, which is great, but when i asked him if he re-surfaced the flywheel he said no. i don't know what that all in-tales but i know it should of been replaced or resurfaced!

Definitely is a good idea to resurface or upgrade the flywheel because it allows the clutch and fly wheel to mesh up as good as possible. Don't know if it would be worth tearing apart to resurface but don't quote me on that.

getsome13 wrote:Where's your leggy at for boost?
-Well it has the electronic AVC-R boost controller on it. If i remember correctly, i had it set at 8lbs in first gear and 5th was 13lbs i believe, just before fuel cut! but its been over 10 months since i've been able to drive so...
getsome13 wrote:How are the windows and seals? Is there a moonroof?
-All windows go up and down no prob. Front passengers window switch some times doesn't go down but goes up. It does have a moon roof and works fine back and fourth!

Have you gotten anywhere with fixing the ABS or power steering issues?

-Sorry to say but I think I am having a mind change. The more I work on it, the more I want to keep it. Also, if I even get the $3,000 I'm asking for it, there's nothing out there at that price that I can get and have that much fun in as I think this car is capable of.
-On another note, p/s will be fixed tomorrow as well as the abs unit if not Sunday. I've pulled the whole intake manifold off and found a couple other things, knock sensor wire not connected, brittle hoses, etc. All of this should be fixed this weekend and hoping to start it up Sunday evening if not sooner... pending on weather since I don't have a garage!
-But ya like said above, I'm now getting to the point of uncertainty if I should let the SS go or not!

Hey did you ever decide if you wanted to sell your legacy or not? Mine was just totaled in a hit and run and if I get close to enough in the settlement I'd be interested in yours.

cheers
