Boost questions
Can anyone tell me what stock boost ison a 93 legacyss in Mpa? and what is a safe level without an intercooler. Got a boost gauge andwithout my mbc it reads .06~.07 wot. Thanks
Re: Boost questions
Where'd you get a gauge that reads in MPa?
This might help, I'm a bit preoccupied though so I can't do the math right now, should be 9psi IIRC

Re: Boost questions
I think it's 8.7-10.15 PSI. The stock EJ22T ECU will cut fuel at 13lbs of boost. Without a fuel cut defender you can't go any higher than 13 and if you set it at 13 you will see fuel cut quite often. Also without an MAF that can read higher than 13lbs of boost which I don't think the stock EJ22T MAF can you will not get a proper fuel mix and you run a high risk of running lean and damaging your engine.
I would say you should leave the boost alone until you get a piggy back/standalone, JECS MAF, manual boost controller or electronic boost controller, intercooler and wideband with an AFR gauge.

Re: Boost questions
I believe stock boost is 9 psi.
From the conversions I found.
9psi= 62.05281561 Kpa
9psi= 0.062052831780978326 Mpa
9psi= 0.62 Bar
This is just using conversion calculators I found on google. You may want to search some more just to make sure it's accurate.

lol that's what I said. 8.7-10.15 because you said .6-.7 MPa.kimokalihi wrote:I think it's 8.7-10.15 PSI.
Anyways, I think it's 13lbs max boost on stock ECU. That's when I was hitting fuel cut. But that's also with a TD05, 520CC injectors, 06-07 TMIC and an EJ20G motor.

Re: Boost questions
8 psi is the factory setting from what my experience leads me to believe. I've been running 11-12 for a long time now, right at the edge of fuel cut. I'm going to get a standalone EMS soon so I don't have to deal with that junk anymore. My tune = my rules.
