Fixin my Li-Ion Battery

So i'm tired of buying new battery packs every time they die (Makita 18v Li-ion) @ $100 Each, so i was trying to se if there is a fix, and came across this guy. http://hackaday.com/2010/01/12/makita-b ... ck-repair/ Very interesting. 1. He doesnt say if i can take out the bad cell and re install it and run the battery again, and 2. what is he planning/can to do with that big brick he made??
