Has anyone succesfully removed a transfercase from a mt without removing the transmission?

I don't think you'd be able to get the transfer case off without pulling the trans. You can get the rear extension housing, but don't think the transfer case would be able to slide back far enough.

You might be able to but it would be hell. And then getting it back on would be double hell.

I just pulled the tranny. getting to the main shift rod release screw would be impossible without eyes on my fingers and another joint in between my wrist and elbow.
