WTB: Rear Axle

Post by 07Evolved »

For my '91 Wagon, I am in need of a good rear axle.

Please let me know what you have...thanks everyone!

Why don't you just go to schucks and buy one? Rather than buying someone else's 150k mile axle

I prefer OEM and not one from an auto parts store as I have read they aren't any good.

I wanted to see if I could find one with low miles or a remanufactured.

Fair enough, but FYI the auto part store axles are remanned, I think they just use a certain piece(forget what though) that's not as good as other brands

Have you personally used an auto parts store axle? How did you like it? What brand?

I'm not totally against the idea, just prefer OEM.

ive used plenty of auto parts axles. they stand up to the northeast roads and winters just fine. if ur rock crawling thats one thing. but for a daily driver, theres nothing wrong with buying an axle from the parts store for 60 bucks. dont forget to bring ur old axle in for core credit.

Yup, I have one from Autozone and one from Schucks, both are doing perfectly fine after a year, don't know the brands though.

Autozone sold you remanufactured I am assuming, that cools. its their brake pads and duralast garage you want to stay away from.

Yea they were both remanned, one might actually be a Duralast, by Duralast garage do you mean parts that they actually make? I'd be inclined to agree if so. And I'd never buy brake pads that shitty, brakes are the most important part on a car.
