Drop Style to C Style Conversion

Post by Josh222 »

I am looking to do a drop style end link to c style link conversion on my Touring Wagon and was just checking to make sure I didn't miss anything. The endlinks ripped out of the lateral link on the stock drop style so I can't have a bar untill I replace it.

Here's what I got to go on am I missing anything?

93 JDM WRX lateral links and trailing arms
All new bolts and nuts for the lateral links and trailing arms
04+ Impreza beefier rear sway bar mounts
Whiteline 22mm rear swaybar
Group A aluminum C Style Endlinks( like kartboy whiteline etc)
92 Touring Wagon Mica Black(sold)
99 Outback Limited(sold)

You really only should have to replace the lateral links and not the trailing arms.

I got the whole set of 4 lateral links and 2 trailing arms for $50 so I am going to replace them all since the bushings in the wrx pieces are like new and the ones on the car are all cracked and the arms are rusty.

I got the bar mounts today, they are off a 04-07 WRX. They really beefed up the design, I am sure the stock ones would have been fine but I figured I might as well get them.

Endlinks I got are made by Group A, local company for me that went out of business a few months ago and another local Subaru parts place was blowing out what was left of the inventory :D

Group A went out of business? That sucks I really liked the quality of parts they had. Expensive but it was a cool company.

The WRX mounts are about quarter inch shorter than the stock legacy ones.

when you did this conversion, did you use the 93 impreza trailing arm bracket? or would you be able to reuse the bracket on the car?

Trailing arms are the same and don't need to be replaced.
