Qusetion about potentioal next car.

Post by Danny-G »

I might be getting a '99 LGT, was my sisters but she got a truck, the question I have is will a gen. one legacy transmission swap directly into the '99 LGT cause it doesn't always go into gear when I put it in D. Reverse works fine everytime but, to me, once the transmission is warmed up it won't go right into gear, like its hesatating to take first. I don't know exactly what to look for as the cause of hesatation, or if a gen. one 4Eat will swap right in. Any input would be amazing.

No, it will not swap in place. The 99 has a transmission from the Phase 2 change over. A lot of stuff is different.

Physically it will fit, but the electronics will not match.

How many miles are on the car? Is it low on trans fluid?
