Need pictures of Legacy roll cage
I always knew I should've saved some pictures of Mark Ward's roll cage. Now rrunracing.com is gone and I need some pics. If anyone has some pictures of any Legacy rally car roll cages please send them to me @ grant@hugheshometheater.com or tell me where they are located if they're online. Thanks!

Thanks again. I think those will do me good. I just got back from the COG rally in Colorado and have a bad case of rally fever. We were working as course marshals and it was a blast. The first stage we had closed to the public three hours before the first car was to be there so we were just tearing around on it in my car. Any excuse to drive. I also ended up losing a window to a stray rock deflected off a mudflap on a 100 mph+ downhill straight stretch. The rock flew at least thirty plus feet and still broke the window with ease. Good thing it didn't hit me.

Who else is building Rally Legacy?
You can run only Club Rally. The SCCA has specific regulation on age.
BTW I wish every one to finish their project but you have to be ready for thousands of hours to spend with your “baby”

I know my rally Legacy is going to be strictly Club Rally and Hill Climb. There are restriction in Production and Production GT of 11 years I believe but Open Class and G5 and G2 are unrestricted. Most people building a Legacy rally car are probably building their first car so won't be looking at Pro Rally. That and it takes a while to get your Pro license and you'll probably be ready for a new car by the time you've worked up to that level. A Legacy is a good car to start out with in my opinion though.

G5 legacy
i rallyx a g5 90 legacy. the only mods done to mine is gr2 struts and rally tires. i am curently tied for first for the season in my region w/2 events left and a mad scramble to replace a shot wheel bearing!
are you going to run it N/A first or turbo right away?
if it werent for those four extra adjusted cc's (2650 adjusted is limit for p and a ej22 is 2654 adjusted) i would build it as a p car and leave it stock. of course i cant afford to even do that so its all bench racing for all but rallyx w/me.
good luck,

hey mike,
glad to see another mn ralliest here!
how is the car coming?
is the cage in yet?
we got a cool pic of you going through the water crossing but the camera put a wierd bright spot on it so its not display quality but is still fun to see if you get me your mailing address i will send you a copy since i have to miss the last rallyx.
my wife just told me if we buy a minivan she wil drive it and i get my 95 wagon back as a daily and i can do whatever i want to the sedan!
she has tried many ways to get me to cave on the minivan thing bu this is by far the most devious and effective!

I really hope this is wrong but I've been told that the material that most bolt in roll cages are made out of is going to be obsolete via the 2004 rules. My Colt has a Safety Devices bolt in cage and I took it in to Brian Moody, a local Pro guy and race car builder and he told me that they were changing some requirements for material and that the type of steel used in most premade cages is made of a type that is going to be not legal. I'm having mine rebuilt from scratch to well exceed 2004 specs so I can use it for a few years at least.
As for the adjusted displacement issue: If you are FWD you can run in Production class.
Displacement: 2197 cc
4 valves multiplier: X1.2
Adjusted Displacement: 2636.4
Production < 2650
If AWD Adjusted: 3427
If AWD Turbo: 5826

Actually I just double checked because as I was writing that last night I started thinking that it was actually 2212 and using the multiplier that matched what you had. I think I got the 2197 from a late night getting my car ready. I alway just put 2200 which gives an exact match for Production limits and I think I read 2197 on something somewhere and voila, it stuck. I actually couldn't be real competitive in either class with it though. In PGT those guys have the advantage of AWD and some turbos and in Production the advantage of lighter, smaller cars, and in the case of one Civic, AWD. I stripped the interior before the last rally though and ran G5 and won the class AND beat all the guys that used to beat me in Production. I can't wait for our event on the 23rd to take the Colt out there and get my first real taste of it on dirt! So anyhow, you're right about the displacement. I'm wrong. Write 2200 and claim 2.2 L = 2200 cc. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
