Denver area mechanic needed for head gaskets

Post by Lawsonmh15 »

Hi all, I was referred here by a member over at the USMB and I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have a 99 Leg SUS with typical HG issues and I simply don't have it in me to pay $1500-$2300 as I'm supporting a "wife" and my daughter. I've run the gamut of trade-in or repair, but it's paid off and for what I could afford in a car payment, I'd likely be inheriting a new set of issues.

Is there anyone in the Denver area with the tools and know-how who would be willing to do this for $800-$1000 in cash?

okay here we go. if the head gaskets at not totally shot you can try this for a while. I have in the past removed the themostat and replaced the housing. use the gasket cement and tighten. this being the winter season you not get much heat till the motor warms up. but for the time being you are driving.

I am in new york and do not know what a ticket would cost but if all else fails i may be talked into coming out to help change the head gaskets. on my end I usually get the gaskets and extras for cost at autozone. I use other suppliers but I think they have autozones out by you. not sure!

HG'S can be changed while motor is in car. takes about a few hours depending on how many jokes are told. I work at a power plant in the bronx VA hospital. have had to many subies to count and love them to no end. right now I have 3 subaru's 2 93 SS's a 97 OBS and my tow truck a MB ML55. it's down for a timing chain and guides. but it tows like no other truck I have ever used.

be well. Daniel sorry I send the first one with the ending of another on it. bepa
