VSS2 Issue
I just bought a 90 legacy wagon fwd auto. The problem that I am having is that the speedo gear in the tranny is bad and the car is shifting wierd. I do not want to have to pull the tranny to replace this part is there any way that I can wire this sensor into the VSS1? or an easy way to fix the speedo gear in the tranny?

Re: VSS2 Issue
I am not aware of a way to fix this other than pulling the front differential housing off the trans to replace the gear.
As for wiring it to VSS1, you may be able to tie that into the wiring going to the ECU & TCU which would likely fix the shifting and other weird issues. However, since the VSS2 is in the gauge cluster and tied to the speedometer, the speedometer still would not work.
I have been wanting to dig into the gauge cluster to look at it and see if there's a way to hook up the speedometer directly the speed sensor and/or my stand alone ECU so I can adjust the calibration. If there's a way to do this, you might be able to get the speedo to work with the signal from VSS1.
The only hiccup I could see is if the signal from VSS1 is of a different pattern than VSS2, but I would think that is not too likely. If you try hooking up VSS1 let us know how it goes.

Re: VSS2 Issue
Does anyone have the ECU pin out that I could use to see the signal and return.

Here's the 90 legacy ECU I-O. It's mostly the same as what I posted in the Stuff you need to know forum.
