Where to look for cars for sale

Post by H2OSB »

I'm looking for a project car...I decided I'd really like a '91-'94 SS. Can anyone suggest things to be wary of (other that common things like rust...e.g. problems associated specifically with these cars of that era), and where I can look for cars available?

I'm a member at LegacyGT.com (I have an '06 LGT), and I looked around the net but I'm just net seeing cars available. I do understand they are somewhat uncommon to rare cars. I'm not opposed to getting a non-turbo sedan and making it a +t. I had planned to, possibly, install a WRX or STI engine/drive train if the 2.2 was in bad shape.

I'm sure this has been asked by other new guys to LegacyCentral, but I didn't find a thread in my search attempt.

Thanks in advance

There's usually a few for sale on here at any given time. Main things I would look for are the usual rust spots and leaky moonroof etc. That is after you find out if all the usual maintenance stuff has been done.

Thanks for the reply. Where on here do I look? I'm sorry if that sounds lame, but I didn't see a section for "cars for sale"

EDIT: NVM, I see everything is listed in the "parts shed"

If you're looking to install a WRX or STI engine you're in for a whole mess of work including an ECU, Harness and Dash swap.

They're great little cars. I would stick with the stock EJ22T and throw some DOHC heads on it, larger turbo, some form of engine management, larger injectors, 3" exhaust, intercooler and suspension and have fun with it.

I'm not opposed to that at all. I simply don't know where to start, really, other than finding a car. Those are good suggestions though.
