93 legacy ss 4eat slipping and hard shifting issues HELP!!!!

Post by tmac »

Hello! can anyone give me as much information as possible on the 4eat?? My transmission seems to be slipping when I step on it on the hwy but when I ease off the pedal a bit it seems to have more go, Also when I'm taking off from a standstill it doesnt want to shift out of first very easily when I'm taking off slowly. However when I floor it from a stand still it seems to want to shift smoother. I do have the option to switch over to a manual,( I also have a 93 awd with a standard 5mt) would this be a complicated swap?? are there any differences in the wiring for cruise control or trans mounts??? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks! subies rock!!!

Welcome to the BBS. I'd suggest checking the transmission fluid if you have not already done so. The trans needs to be warmed up, then parked on a level surface, then slowly cycle the gear selector from park to 1st and back to park. Leave the engine running, and then check the trans fluid. The dipstick is on the driver's side.

As for the 5mt swap, check out my write-up. I also did an AWD swap, but all the electrical issues and things that need to be done for the 5mt swap are there.
