trunk light switch

Post by scottzg »

My trunk light doesnt turn off. I didnt even know until now because it drains the battery so slow. Where is the trunk light switch?

Oh, and how might i go about hooking up a small solar cell to maintain my battery? I seem to be fraught with electrical problems and it would be nice to have this backup.

I don't think there's a switch per se. I think it's part of the trunk latch.

So there's actually a handle back there? I thought there was only a keyhole and a release from inside the vehicle. That's how my wife's Impreza is. If there's an actual handle, I don't think it being broken would affect the light.

i was referring to the one inside the car next to the gas pop thingie.

I've got to replace it, but i am terrified it will cost 10 dollars and take 10 minutes.

the button to turn off the trunk light is in the latch mechanism. It's a little white plastic thing that is pushed down I believe.

If you don't see it, it might have broken off. If so, just disconnect the trunk light using the connector plug in the trunk.
