So I put a rear fwd strut /spring in my awd

Struts, spring, anti-rollbars, braces and the like.

So I put a rear fwd strut /spring in my awd

Post by 253.Asmo »

I'm aware the strut mount is bit different, although it looked close and went in alright. This going to cause problems?

Just attempting to rectify some curb induced tweakage. Camber is still off, although not as bad as w/the old, visibly tweaked strut. Could be the knuckle right? Got the toe back to close, tracks better, but camber def still off.

Suggestions? I gotta get this at least temporarily straight so I can run tires w/out rippin em up

Thanks

The rear height is going to be all jacked up running fwd rear struts. I'm surprised you even got it on there. You need to put AWD rear struts on.

If you still have a problem, you may have a bent component in the suspension.

This thread illustrates the difference in AWD and FWD struts and hubs. Other than the lower ride height, they should fit just fine.

Yeah, thought there was a difference, just wasn't nearly as visibly noticeable as in the pictures from that thread.

With a bent strut, makes sense why the mounts looked nearly identical when I put it in! The height and slant of the FWD strut explains why I've still got a bit of positive camber at that wheel.

I've just gotta make it a couple weeks and the car will be parked for awhile. Needs springs, struts minimum. Probably more if money allows :(
