My plate in the front when I got my car was bent towards the back of the car so I took it off with the bracket. I bent my plate back into shape and stuck it in my window. In California, its the law to have 2 plates on the car at all times. One attached to the front bumper and the second in the rear. If you do not have both plates attached if pulled over by a peace officer, it will result in a fine. I dont know how much the fine is. But I am now in Oregon and I could care less what I do with that front license plate. Prolly gonna make a birdhouse out of it with my rivet gun. :P

Thats what I love about florida, no front plates, no emissions testing, and unless you drive by a real jackass, the cops don´t bother you about noise too much. Any thing else about florida....

Bent mine in my field. 3' snow drifts...who says you can't have fun in a FWD? They go everywhere at 70 mph!

Well, better late than never

Post by Legacy Rally Guy »

Hehe, I remember first reading this thread and wishing I had a pic of my first 91 Legacy 2wd 5spd after a night on the trails! I just found it last night, sorry but better late than never. Oh yeah, this is a Pizza Hut parking lot.

no license plate at all

Post by Trace »

don't have a front license plate, in fact, i'm front bumperless. I've been looking for a front turbo bumper for months now but nothing in local junk yard, all NA and pre-facelift

Mines bent down to make it harder for traffic cameras to get my plate haha. And to make it harder for other people to see my plate.

I got pulled over 4 years ago for not having a front plate and going 5+ over the speed limit. The cop threatened to give me $100 ticket for no plate on the front and a $100 for not having my subwoofer enclosure bolted down. I wound up with $100 ticket for 5mph over the speed limit. He told me I wasn't the only one speeding but I was the only one without a license plate up front so that singled me out. Haven't had a ticket since. :)

Mine's bent, from driving through deep snow.

Ha! I get a lot more shit in my Legacy than I ever did in my e30, no front plate isn't gonna happen on my car. Then again I'm in Washington where all the kids drive WRXs, so I'm associated by driving a Subaru.

Shiny Plate: The car sees gravel roads, but no bottoming out.

Shiny Plate: Hehe, on-road only truck.

Rolled 2.25 times, couldn't find plate, but guessing at where the plate USED to be and how damaged the bumper is, I'm thinking it is bent well... Kinda wiped out and landed on drivers door after a blowout in full tilt around a corner at 70mph. I was able to scrub off enough speed, but it rolled when I found the ditch with the flat tire and rim. I got out, pushed it back on it's wheels, used some tie downs to hold things together enough to drive home.. I then drove home on a flat and a low tire 10 miles.

The rear was good and bent! *this is right after I got it righted*

My first Legacy... *wipes away tear* It was funny when the police recovered it after it had been stolen and it wasn't 1/10th this dirty! Punk ass kids not knowing how to drive a Legacy with knobbies! I'd have loved to have seen this car on an episode of cops!
Image

My Legacy I recently sold... I intentionally bent that plate:

I leave mine bent for airflow and to make a smaller target for cops' laser/radar.
