AWD problem

Post by samurai »

I'm having trouble trying to figure out what's wrong with my AWD. I took the fuse out (cause when it was in i kept hearing some weird grinding noise but now that it's out it's stopped, and i'm assuming it should be awd but i can tell it's not...the front wheels are the only thing spinning in the snow and when i was trying to back up my front tires was on the snow and my rear was on some clear pavement but the front wheels just spun and i could get up the hill which wasn't even that steep. I'm not sure what's wrong with it...could it be the front tires are bald and it's messing up the system? could i take a OBD scanner to it and find out what's wrong with it? and it's a 92 Auto sedan and it does have a rear axle on it so it is the Awd or...4wd model

Welcome to the boards. If you search for torque bind and duty c solenoid you'll find others with similar problems as you.
