Need some input on 5x100==>5x114.3 spindle redrill

Post by Florin1 »

So i'm having a HARD time finding 1 more 5x100 bbs wheel for my car to get her back on the road. But first let me back track a little bit. The reason I'm in this mess is because i did a brembo swap f/r 2 weeks ago. I installed 05 sti complete hub/knuckle/spindle out back so i am 5x114.3 back there. I chose to keep the front 5x100 because my 05 sti assy isn't gonna work for many reasons. (axles, trans, coilovers). That wasn't gonna be an issue because my wheels are dual lug pattern. Fast forward. Got everything buttoned up, and my wheels don't clear the front calipers, as expected. I ordered a 5x100 to 5x114.3 kit for the front but the adapter thickness was 1". Problem w/ that is my wheels pop out past my fenders by about 3/4". It looks too "mexi" for me.
So this is where i stand. I have a complete set of 05 bbs wheels. What i want to do is pull my spindles (hope i'm talking about the proper part) in the front, and knock out my studs, re drill between the old holes my new lug pattern 5x114.3, and have a full 5x114.3 car.
Has anybody ever done this? Does the spindle have teeth for where the wheel studs go in? Can this work? Thanks.

i don't think you'll be able to re drill there will be abs tone ring holes in the other positions
if you are planning on going rwd like youve said a few times just roll the fenders for the 25mm spacer and add some more camber
