high idle

high idle

well heres the thing tonight i thought i was smart and changed the o ring on the iac soleniod, and ever since my car will not stop idleing at 3k. any know what it could be?

Welcome to the BBS.

Are you talking about the o-ring between the IAC valve body & top electro magnet portion? If so, did you mark the orientation of the top piece before removing it? It should go back in the same orientation that you removed it. You can rotate the top to see if that brings the idle down and retighten the screws. If you did mark the orientation, I would check that the o-ring you used is the correct one.

no i did not mark it i found that out after i took it off lol, and yeah i got the right one from subaru itself, but i had another intake layin around so i figured i would clean it and throw it on her and see what happens and low and behold she runs much better i tried to figure out how to adjust the iac solenoid but no luck looked everywhere on how to do it but i turned and i turned and the idle still would not drop.

Yeah, marking them is pretty important. You should have been able to readjust it, but maybe it just wasn't having it. As long as you got it replaced/fixed. That's what's important
