So i have a 92 Legacy SS and it has around 252xxx miles and i want to rebuild it and put a 2.5 rs or sti crank in (if theres a difference). and rods and forged pistons, then just rebuild the heads to stock.
how would i go about the crank application i know its bigger so i know that there might have to be some machining involved just need to know if anyone has done this to the EJ22T motor..
Welcome to the BBS. I would recommend checking out some of the stickies in the sticky compilation thread. What you're wanting to do is a hybrid type build, and there's been a few members that have gone that route.
One primary issue you will run into with the cranks is that over the years the thrust bearing location has changed, so if a newer crank is desired (which I don't necessarily think you need one) you will have to have the block halves machined to accept the thrust bearings in the proper bearing location.
What is your ultimate power goal, and how much money do you want to spend? I would suggest you consider what type of engine management you would want to run. The stock ECU, sensors, & injectors are pretty much maxed at their current stock capacity. Any mods you do will require some form of engine management to properly run and account for extra air & fuel.
