E-MANAGE

Post by TDGKORN »

Has anyone on here tried using the greddy e-manage on their ej22t's.
There are a few guy's runing them on wrx's, but is it practical on our cars?
I want to go with a high end ems for my first mod, so I can get all the hp out of any additional mod's. If anyone has any info on the subject please let me know.

p.s. just bought a '92 legacy ss 4eat and I love it. :D

E-manage isn't a high end system, is it? I thought it was a piggyback, a lot like the Unichip or something.

In my opinion it would be better to go fully standalone... or wait around until we figure out how to remap the stock ECUs...

I trust it is a pretty high end setup considering most race teams with 13 sec and lower wrx's are running the e-manage. The stand-alone systems that are out there are very complex unless you have access to a awd dyno and experienced tuner, not to mention the 2000 plus price tag.
as for the remapped ecu, I trust the guys at greddy a little more then messing with the ecu.

I've assisted programming an Emanage in a custom turbo'd application (non-subaru). While I wouldn't consider the emanage a "high end" system, I do appreciate it's abilities.

at ~$600 for the application i used it in, it was worth it (that was with extra goodies needed to work with a turbo). I hear that for NA applications, it runs around 400.

Yes, it is a piggyback. Full Standalone comes with it's own headaches. there is a lot of research to be done with either method and you better be prepared to do a lot of homework. :D

I found the whole set up for $1084, that includes
E-manage
PRofec E-01
Support Tool
Ignition Harness
Injector Harness
PRofec E-01 External Signal Harness
PRofec E-01 Pressure Sensor Harness
PRofec E-01 Remote Switching System
PRofec E-01 USB Cable
PRofec E-01 Meter Cable
not a cheap set up and have yet to hear any bad things about it, unlike the full stand-alones out there.

interesting...
Although I have seen the emanage setup for sale a lot in various online shops...I don't think I've really heard many people using it on subarus. Are you from the US? Do you NABISCO? I ussually browse through there pretty regularly and havn't heard too much about people using it.
I'm definately interesting in a piggyback setup that gives more options than most out there, but is easier than stand alone. Could you tell me more about this things capabilities, or point me in the right direction for info? So I would imagine this thing offers some fuel control like a SAFC, and it has an ignition harness, so maybe its got some timing control too? And the profec is for boost control, right? Thats pretty cool, all that in a unified piggyback sys. I've often wondered about some way to link boost to throttle with an aftermarket boost controller...I don't really know enough about it, but I would like to be able to turn my boost up, but am worried about part throttle full boost problems (with the way I drive especially) and it seems like an issue with MBCs...and I think even nice EBC's like the apexi one can't deal with it. Anyone care to allay my PTFB fears?
thanks

I am in the US, Wyoming to be exact. I do go on nabisco and that is where I saw a few race teams commenting on how good the emanage is.
this web site sells and has good info on the system.

I am still researching all the systems out there, but imo the emanage has the best of both worlds: relativly easy to use and can control fuel, timing, and boost in one unit.

Well if you try it, let us know how it works. Most of us will probably be looking at another ecu at some point in time in our modding experience I think.
