suspension question

so I've read some of the things people have posted about the KYB struts and I'm thinking of getting the AGX. But I would love to get a little drop and better handling from some springs I know that H&R are nice but from what I've found is they'll only drop about 1.25 front and 1 inch in back (numbers from raceinspired) and I know I can get STi top hats will work I've found out but I don't really want to spend a pretty penny on them and raceinsoired has some impreza 93 - 01 that are H&R that will drop front 1.8 and rear 1.5 but I'm not sure if they have the tapered springs or the kind my 92 Legacy ss has..

any help would be awesome

Your 92 should not have tapered rear springs.

Maybe someone with some direct experience on GC Impreza springs can comment. Have you read the suspension info compendium?

i know i dont have the tapered springs on the back i was wondering if i would need some modification to get the impreza springs to fit..

this is my understanding from what i could really find from the info...


92-94 AWD....GC/GM/GF (93-2001impreza)........FP
........................GD/GG (2002- impreza)................FP, SPT
........................BD/BG (95-99 legacy)...................FP
........................BE/BH (00-04 legacy)...................Probably FP, No fit rear!
........................SF (98-02 forester)......................Probably Nothing
........................SG (03- forester...........................Probably FP
........................BC/BF fwd....................................Rear struts don’t Fit!

but still not sure if the springs will swap over and that info is for the springs which the GC's would fit but i would need the FP's but still un sure... grrr

According to the post, if you want to use GC springs you need Front Upper Spring Perches. Beyond that, I'm not reading anything that says they won't fit.

well i ended up getting a great deal for full wrx suspension 240 for struts springs and tophats now i just need a good idea for some springs i've heard good things of whiteline just not sure what style im looking for i hear they have control type and flat type flat give more drop and control will not lower it to the ground but give you more stability

I've got the WL Control springs on my Legacy and have been pretty happy with them. They provide a lowered stance, but don't slam the car.
