WTB 1994 touring wagon doors

Post by mesoslow6969 »

Hey everyone. i got a white 1994 touring wagon. all the doors are starting to rust through at the bottom. I'm not sure if its cheaper/ better to pay someone to weld new metal all along all the bottom of the doors, or to just buy some rust free doors. If anyone has had experience with bodywork or rust removal, any advice would be appreciated. If buying some rust free doors is the best way to go, please PM me prices shipped to 60659 or if you are close enough to drive out and pick up. Thanks.

FYI, To keep your options open..

The doors are the same on wagons and sedans. The rear glass is different, but swaps out without too much trouble. I don't know if the front glass is the same.

The wiring and trim is slightly different pre- to post- facelift.

the trim and wires are still good on my car so i would just transfer them over. the bottom sills are rusting through and i'm not sure if its worth the money to pay someone to weld new metal. its hard to find non rusty doors since the cars are so old. Especially living in Chicago, it makes it ten times harder to find them without rust.

I know its no help but theres a white 92 wagon sitting in a junkyard over here and the doors are perfect, I've pulled some parts off of it.

I have a bunch of good doors in PA, $50 each, picked up. Not a good idea to ship these.

My zip is 18824
I don't have any pics but I only save the good ones, NO rust, no dents. Some dings and scratches.
If the weather calms down out here I can uncover them for some pics.
