Cam differences

Post by SubaruNation »

Hey guys,

so i am finally re-assembling my motor and i come to find out that one of my camshafts is sheared, i sourced a different one and i'm wondering if anyone would know the differences if there are any between them.

Both the camshafts are the right side intake ones, the only differences i can see are that one cam says FF and one says HF. both are for the 2 litre WRX motors.

DOHC swap guys gimme a hand :)

thanks!

If it's for a DOHC head, you need to make sure it's the correct cam, since one will be for the exhaut valves and one will be for the intake valves.

You may want to give Delta cams a call to see if they can clarify things for you.

Hey Josh!

So, i did some research, and the cams i had before were 04 (intake) ones from black car, then the ones i purchased to replace the broken one, as a pair, were 05 (intake).

Talking to subaru, they said that the part number change occurred in 03, so differences between the 04 and 05 should be miniscule..if any. im keeping the same 04 exhaust cams though... all for DOHC.

had heads touched up, new gaskets... etc... motor is all built. hopefully this cam pairing doesn't cause a problem and im thinking it shouldn't.

Should be all set soon!
