I am selling my 1993 White Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan 5-speed manual. She starts up perfect every time, runs and handles great. Has never broken down on me. I’ve been avoiding selling her for a few years, but I need more room (just got a land cruiser for expeditions). Here is everything I can think of to tell you about the car. Photos are below as well.
The good:
I am the second owner, I picked her up with 48k miles in 2000. The first owner was the owner of a Subaru dealership in Seattle, and it was his personal car. She now has 110,000 miles. She has been my second car, and very lightly used since Feb 2007.
I have all records of all service performed on her, including those from the previous owner.
No accidents. Clean title.
Exterior:
-4 OEM wheels with Studless snowtires (Blizzak Revo 1s in 195-60-15, 80% tread left)
- And I will throw in 4 98’ Subaru Legacy GT wheels Kumho Escta Supra 712's in 205-50-16, 20% tread left
-Oregon/Washington car (no undercarriage rust)
-Trailer hitch w/ 4-pin wiring
Interior:
-Alpine CD/MP3 Dash unit with remote control and aux input
-Clean interior
-Hella Supertone horn (loud!)
-sunroof still works well (flips open, and slides back)
Engine:
-3” custom stainless steel turbo back exhaust with one CAT and Borla muffler (single tip). Passes emissions every year up here in Seattle. Sounds deep and mean.
- Mobile 1 Full Synthetic oil, and oil changes at each 3k interval
-Hallman manual boost controller set to 12 PSI
-MSD DIS-2 Ignition (includes hidden anti-theft switch. When flipped, she will turn over but not start)
-MSD plug wires
-upgraded “diamond” coil pack
-Custom cone filter intake
-Custom aluminum radiator tank
-Air-Water Intercooler (off a Legacy RS EJ20T engine), complete with water radiator system hooked up to Jabsco marine pump with manual on/off switch near steering wheel.
-VDO Boost Gauge mounted on steering column
Drivetrain/suspension:
-5 speed manual transmission
-KYB GR2 struts
The Bad:
-intermittent small oil leak which drips onto the hot turbo, sending up white smoke through the open hood scoop. Smart Service Subaru dealer looked at this a few years ago and said it wasn’t worth fixing (wasn’t burning significant amounts of oil), as long as you don’t mind occasional white smoke through the hood scoop.
-crack in windshield, passenger side, about 1.5 feet long.
-chip out of top right corner of drivers side view mirror.
-Sunroof works perfect (flip up and back), but also leaks on heavy rain when parked at just the right angle to allow water to pool. I think this is an easy fix to clear the sunroof drains, but haven’t put the energy into it.
-Few paint chips on hood scoop. Few very minor dings all around (great for its age though!!)
-Passenger auto seatbelt just stopped working, but I’m guessing it’s just a fuse or something….
-power steering belt squeals a little when cold, but goes away once its warmed up.
-drivers side door handle is sort of jacked up from an attempted break in with a crowbar. Has still worked fine as-is for past 7 years
