good gas mileage

Post by teaguespeed »

So i went to warped tour this weekend (good time), which is about a 350 mile round trip. I got 301 miles out of a tank of gas, with the needle just above the E. It took 10.64 gallons to fill it, which works out to 28.3 mpg. My car is an auto ( :? ) by the way. This may be kind of a pointless post, i was just rather pleased so i thought i'd let ya guys know. Maybe i should ask a question... What is the best gas mileage you guys have seen out of your turbo's?

About 23 mpg + the 8.882% my speedo is off. I really haven't gotten over that dastardly urge to peg gas pedal and peg needle on occasion.... or sprint up to speed like a jack rabbit. Self-control is definitely needed with that intoxicating sound of boost. One day I might make it a whole gas tank without taking off.

i know exactly what your talking about brat4by4. this trip was on highways the whole time, which doesnt really promote spirited accelleration.

-I got 22.4 mpg on my last tank. Thats the highest its ever been. Running low boost 8lbs most of the time and with lots of highway driving!

I think I might have gotten 18-20 on my last tank before the motor blew. In my old 90 L wagon with 4EAT from a 94 the last tank I filled up got like 27mpg!

I get ~25.5 when I go back and forth to school, but with a bunch of stuff in the car and a lead foot for passing and stops. I've gotten up to 28 before when I was trying to get good mileage.

8mpg?? You serious? Something is very wrong if you're getting that kind of mileage.

I think i found it! the knock sensor, since my car hesitates at idle and sometime just dies and idles a bit low. Gonna buy a new one tomorrow and see if it fixes my problem! :-D

yah just orderd the knock sensor from the local store for 83$ canadian! now waiting for it to get here so i can install it. just wondering how hard is it to install on a 92 SS?
