SAVE THIS CAR: 92 TURBO IN SOCAL

Post by cartwheels »

92 Winestone Legacy SS TURBO

127,XXX miles

Located in Anaheim California at Pick Your Part.

Saw it on the back of a flatbed today leaving a house in Irvine. It won't be on the lot for a few days, there's still time to save it from the wrecking yard. The reason it was sold (for 325 dollars, what a shame) to the junk yard is that the timing belt seems to be off, at least that's what the tow truck driver said. He must've thought I was really weird for following him in my white SS.

Give me a call at (714) 315 7709 if you're interested in the car. I'm headed to the yard today to see if I can save it from being pulled apart.

Yeah they want 1500 for it complete. I'll just pull the motor and leave the rest when it goes on the lot.

Yeah, if I had known that the old lady who owned it was going to sell it so cheap, I would have bought it myself. I nearly cried when I saw it sitting on the back of a flatbed.

:( sold my old 92 legacy wagon couple months ago for 350 to a tow truck guy, was a 2wd auto wit 450,000 km ran perfect and had no rust on the front fenders and my new 92 ss has bad rust on front fenders, shoulda salvaged the fenders since they dont give a dam about rust just that it ran :(

Having worked in that industry, I can tell you that the $1500 figure is thrown out to gauge your interest. They have a minimum, and I suspect it is around 750-900.

This is what they calculate they'll make, counting the parts sold and metal recycled. even if you buy the engine, tranny, whatever, they precharge you a "core" fee so you'll return your busted motor/tranny/whatever and they still get the metal scrap for recycling. An employee can buy the car from them at their minimum before it's been processed to go into the yard.
