Probably not. Maybe when one is talking big power, like 500whp and up

Re: P&P Turbo
"Porting" and polishing a turbocharger does not get around the fact that the compressor and turbine wheels flow a finite amount of air. Spend your money elsewhere.

Re: P&P Turbo
That's what I've always wondered. I see people doing it all the time and often by hand with little to no experience. I can't see any noticeable difference unless you're using a CNC and bench flow testing. I can see the possibility of negative affects since many people don't know what they're really doing so I wouldn't attempt it myself.

Re: P&P Turbo
I had mine done when I bought it. I can't say it made any difference because I have no experience with a non-P&P turbo. I would say that mine was more just polishing of the surfaces and less enlarging it.
Here's some pics of the turbo brand new.

Got your hot side ceramic coated too looks like. We have basically the same turbo, no? Only difference I see is yours has the 90 degree inlet.

Re: P&P Turbo
The long and short of porting and polishing the inlets and outlets of a turbo is that you are trying to reduce any restriction in those areas. The restriction is going to be small when you look at the actual speed of the air/exhaust flowing in and out of those areas. At less then the speed of sound, the shock wave of the incoming air sits in front of the surface so knife edges and gradual tapers are going to be limited in their effect. Tapering the inlets and outlets might help a little, but the effect is limited by the airflow, ala turbo size. When considering turbos in the Mitsu product line, this should not be a major factor.
There are a few large bolt-on turbos out there, but they are limited by the inlet when considering the silicone options out there for under-manifold setups.
