Injectors, an intercooler if you don't have one, and a tune.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
so if i get a TMIC, 440's, JECS MAF, that wont be okay?
Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
look at my car. I ran the VF43 on my car with stock ecu and injectors w/ a top mount for awhile. Then I eventually switched to a front mount, and now with a 20g ecu and sti injectors. to just make the turbo fit you will have to make some kind of a 90 degree for the turbo inlet and then you stick a piece of 2 1/4" pipe in there to fit your stock intake elbow (the one with the PCV and By-pass port on it) or you can get an aluminum one made like I did (nice for running a bigger by-pass port so you don't get any BPV flutter). Then you'll have to fab up some kind of y-pipe if you run a top mount (I don't know to much about this part because my top mount was only temporary). Other then that the thing will bolt on to the up-pipe and you might have to go to NAPA and get some water hose and make some of the coolant lines longer.

Still need EM to run it correctly.so if i get a TMIC, 440's, JECS MAF, that wont be okay
The VF43 is very similar the VF39. From the Turbo List on NASIOC: "The primary difference between the VF43 and the VF39 used previously on STI's seems to be the stiffness of the wastegate. The VF43 has a stiffer wastegate designed to reduce boost creep issues."
I've fitted a couple VF39's to my EJ22T, and it uses the stock lines from the VF11. You can reuse your oil (tight fit) and coolant lines (probably need to separate them).
As stated, you'll need to fab up something to replace the 90° elbow from the VF11 and deal w/the different output to the throttle body/IC.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
Right, the stock 22t ecu doesn't run it to it's full potential but you can still run it. I got a MAF code when I ran mine (stock hitachi maf) and I assumed the turbo was just maxing it out.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
how good is the Vf43 compared to the TD04? in terms of power gain and lag issues? i know the TD04 isnt much more power than the vf11 and has a quick spool up. logan would you recommend i go to a JECS MAF then? or keep it stock? i only plan on running around 8-10 lbs of boost until i get some sort of EM
Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
I LOVE THE VF43, on stock ecu and my 20g ecu, it spools up incredibly fast. The only way you can run a JECS MAF is if you can track down one of the old Revtronix chip setups or get a 20g ecu that is tuned by rob. I'm running the 20g ecu that is tuned by rob with STI 550cc injectors, jecs maf, walbro fuel pump, front mount and a greddy electronic boost controller. I"m running 18-19psi. I highly recommend the ECU, I haven't had any problem with mine since I put it in and it runs the car perfectly.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
oh and i've talked to Dom at Maxwell Power Services (look them up if you've never heard of them) here in Washington and he said that the VF43 and 22t is one of his favorite engine/turbo combos.

are you still running the SOHC?

my guess would be low to mid 200's

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
i dont need the ej20g engine to run robs 20G tune? how much did that cost you logan for the 20G ecu tuned by him to work with the 22T ?
Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
You don't need the engine and I can't remember the cost off the top of my head so you'd have to talk to him. i made a conversion harness to made it work with the 22t setup.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
so if i had a wideband and boost control and boost gauge i could run this turbo on around 10 psi on stock ecu?, and does anyone know if guage clusters are interchangable between turbos and N/A?
Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
That's what i did except I still haven't put my wideband in but I ran it on a full 3" exhaust. Clusters should be the same between the two.

Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
okay sweet, then when it comes time to get EM how much boost can this turbo run?
Re: VF43- what do i need to make it work?
I've heard of people running up to 25psi, but that is probably getting out of its efficiency range. I don't plan on running anymore then maybe 22psi with mine, i'm at about 18-19psi right now.
