Seat Belt Buckle -- Killing me!

Post by freedspeak »

Hi all,

I just got a '92 Legacy L FWD, and I LOVE it, with ONE exception:

The seatbelt buckle DIGS into my right hip (I'm a lardbutt) until I'm having to drive without the seatbelt and cocked over to one side against the door.

As I've examined this, it looks as if the buckle assembly were LONGER and would rise above the center console, it would COMPLETELY solve the problem.

Can anyone address how I can go about making this happen?
What parts to use? Maybe from another Sube?

TIA,

Just an idea, when swapping around seats and rails I noticed that some rails have a longer seat belt arm.

Also in other areas of the world they got full manual seat belts, this arm is shorter if I remember right.
